Effective September 20, 2026
Remembure is a service that phones you for short conversations and turns them into a private journal. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It covers the Remembure website (remembure.com) and the Remembure iOS app. Questions go to hello@remembure.com.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your first name (and last name if you provide it in the app), phone number, email address, time zone, and how you sign in. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from them. Apple may give us a private relay email address instead of your real one.
- Call preferences: the days and times you choose for calls, and onboarding choices such as memory focus areas, season of life, and conversation depth.
- Conversations: when you take a call, we receive a text transcript of it and save the full transcript to your account.
- Generated content: after each call we generate a journal entry (a theme, a one-line summary, small moments, big moments, what stayed with you, and feelings). We also generate tags for each entry (chapter, people, themes, and whether it was a milestone) and a running summary of your life context (recurring themes, important people, goals, open follow-ups, current season, patterns, and a suggested question for your next call). We also store edits you make to entries and any custom words or spelling corrections you save.
- Payment and subscription information: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, phone number, a Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan, subscription status, and renewal or end dates. We do not receive or store your full card number.
- Sign-in data: one-time sign-in codes (we store only a hash, and each code expires after 10 minutes) and a signed session token. On the website, your session and onboarding progress are kept in your browser's local storage. In the iOS app, your session is kept on your device. If you turn on Face ID, matching is done by iOS on your device. We do not receive or store biometric data.
- Waitlist information: name, phone number, and optionally email, if you join the waitlist.
- Operational logs: records of call attempts and outcomes (for example answered or missed), timestamps, and errors. These can include your phone number. Our hosting providers also log basic technical data such as IP address, device or browser type, and pages requested.
2. Phone calls and audio
- Calls are placed by an AI voice assistant, not a person.
- Call audio is processed in real time by our voice provider, Vapi, and the speech and voice services it uses, so your speech can be transcribed and the assistant can talk back. Telephony is provided through Vapi and Twilio.
- Our own systems save transcripts, not audio. Our providers may keep call records, which can include recordings and transcripts, under their own settings and policies.
- To make calls feel continuous, we can give the assistant limited context from your account, such as your name, people and themes from earlier calls, and recent journal entries.
- Calls happen only on the days and times you choose. If you miss a call, we may place a single make-up call later that week.
- Remembure is not therapy and is not an emergency service. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact local emergency services.
- You decide what you say on a call. Anything you say about other people is processed the same way as everything else you say.
3. How we use your information
- To place calls at the times you choose.
- To create and store your journal entries, timeline, and insights, and to personalize future calls.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send service messages such as sign-in codes, welcome messages, and account notices.
- To respond to support requests, fix errors, prevent abuse, and keep the service running.
- To comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use your content to train our own AI models.

Providers act on our behalf and are bound by their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people or our rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business.
5. Analytics and tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools in our website or iOS app. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Our hosting providers keep basic request logs. We use browser local storage on the website to keep you signed in and remember onboarding progress. We do not use advertising cookies.
6. Storage and retention
- Journal entries, transcripts, and account records are stored in our Airtable database until you ask us to delete them or your account is deleted.
- Canceling your subscription stops calls and billing. It does not delete your journal. You can still sign in with your email or phone number to read it.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Sign-in sessions last up to 60 days.
- Stripe keeps payment and tax records as required by law.
- Our providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries where they operate.
7. Your choices and deleting your data
- Edit: you can edit your journal entries, call days and times, and custom words in the app.
- Export: you can export journal entries from the journal.
- Cancel: you can cancel your subscription from your account settings at any time.
- Delete your account: in the iOS app, go to Settings and tap Request account deletion. This cancels your subscription immediately and flags your account for deletion. We then remove your subscriber record, journal entries, transcripts, and generated insights manually. You can also email hello@remembure.com to request deletion of your account or of specific entries. We may need to confirm it is you first.
- After deletion, copies may remain for a limited time in provider systems, such as Stripe payment records, provider logs, and backups, under their own retention practices.
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or limit how we use it. Email hello@remembure.com and we will respond as applicable law requires. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
8. Security
We use HTTPS for data in transit. Sign-in codes are stored as hashes and limited by expiry and attempt limits. Sessions use signed tokens that expire. Access to your journal requires a verified sign-in. Provider credentials are kept on the server, not in the app. Our database tables that hold sign-in data are locked to server-side access only. Our infrastructure providers encrypt data in transit and at rest on their platforms. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Children
Remembure is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@remembure.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If we make material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email.
